Come celebrate the season of Advent in an historic and sacred place.
Advent is the first season of the Church year, beginning four Sundays before Christmas and ending on Christmas Eve. The word “Advent” comes from the Latin for “coming,” as it marks a time of joyful anticipation and preparation for the birth of Jesus Christ. During this season, the church invites everyone to rediscover hope, peace, joy, and love symbolized by the weekly lighting of candles on the Advent wreath.
This is a season to prepare our hearts, not only for Christ’s birth in Bethlehem, but also for his coming into our lives today. Through special prayers, readings, and music, Advent invites us to experience the wonder of the Word becoming flesh and dwelling among us.
